Since the pair began working together in 2014 things have been shaping up nicely for Johnny Wobble and Frankie BlackArt. Playing alongside the likes of Defected label owner Simon Dunmore, Fedde Le Grand and KORT the pair are already being dubbed as ones to watch, even being selected by their former production academy as one of their top artists to grace the decks in the legendary Ministry of Sound.
Their debut EP The BlackArt of Wobble, released on Tropical Velvet Records in February 2016, was met with praise. Especially with the single Wake Up, receiving support from the likes of As I Am, SySez, AM2PM, Jon Rundell and house legend Roger Sanchez.
It’s hard to squeeze their style into one particular sub-genre, with the duo continuing to experiment within various old and new school house grooves. When asked about their style, the answer is invariably “We make the music we like to party to”. However their characteristic hair-in-the-wind bass lines, clever sampling, exhilarating build ups and addictive drops means they are already carving out the early stages of a style of their own.
2015 saw Wobble&BlackArt further their exploration of the London music scene with the startup of their SuperSoulSessions. A series of rooftop day parties across London throughout the summer,bringing their own tunes along with an impressive selection of both new and established talent to a diverse and increasing fan base.
2016 is looking to be even bigger. With the next EP in the bag and a multitude of new tracks ready to burst, these guys are coming in strong
